What the heck is

GRRRL FEST (GF) is a local female-led festival to officially celebrate the spirit of International Women's Day #choosetochallenge in Kirikiriroa-Hamilton, held over the weekend
Friday 14 - Sunday 16 May 2021.

Shining the spotlight on female and gender-non-binary artists and talent, GF is providing stages, spaces and places across Kirikiriroa Hamilton for the first ever GF in May 2021.

GF is founded on four major creative cornerstones: visual arts, music, performing arts and market-makers.

GRRRL FEST 2021 is the first female-led festival of it's kind to be held in Kirikiriroa-Hamilton, New Zealand.
Inspired by the RIOT GRRRL punk movement (circa 1990 - Olympia, Washington)
GRRRL FEST Kirikiriroa is all about celebrating our local female and non-gender-conforming artists and talent, and creating more pride for our creative communities.
GF2021 is hosting three main events across the festival, the Cabaret Variety Show (performing arts), Basement Show (loud music) and Sunday Session (chill music).
To fulfil the market-makers aspect GF after our March cancellations, GF is also hosting a stall at Hamilton Zine Fest on Sat 8 May at The Meteor. Displaying a bunch of fem-made zines, buttons and accessories - as well as GF merch!
♥︎ We want to say a huge thanks to Never Project Space for hosting our visual art show back in March! ♥︎
